THERE TO BE - VERBO HAVER – EXISTIR
O verbo HAVER em inglês é representado pela palavra THERE
( que normalmente significa LÁ, ALÍ, mas que neste caso fica sem
significado) e o verbo TO BE. Daí ser chamado THERE TO BE.
O verbo THERE TO BE tem duas formas, uma para o singular e
outra para o plural.
THERE IS = HÁ EXISTE ( presente / singular, geralmente seguido
de A ou AN. )
THERE ARE = HÁ, EXISTEM ( presente / plural, não seguido de
A ou AN )
THERE WAS = HAVIA, EXISTIA ( passado / singular, geralmente
seguido de A ou AN )
THERE WERE = HAVIA, EXISTIAM ( passado / plural, não seguido
de A ou AN )

A forma interrogativa é feita colocando-se
IS, ARE, WAS, WERE antes da palavra THERE.
AF. >THERE IS AN ORANGE ON THE TABLE
INT.>IS THERE AN ORANGE ON THE TABLE?
AF. >THERE WERE MANY CARS IN THE GARAGE
INT.> WERE THERE MANY CARS IN THE GARAGE ?
A forma negativa é feita colocando-se NOT
após IS, ARE, WAS, WERE.
AF. >THERE WAS AN ORANGE ON THE TABLE
NEG.> THERE WAS NOT AN ORANGE ON THE TABLE.
AF. >THERE ARE MANY ORANGES ON THE TABLE
NEG.>THERE ARE NOT MANY ORANGES ON THE TABLE.
